HOW LONG IS A WOODSIDE CHURCH SERVICE?

 

In total, a Woodside Church service is about 75 minutes in length. Service begins with a welcome from our Pastor, followed by our praise team leading the church in music - song lyrics are projected onto the screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. We worship God through singing, reading of the Psalms, the Pastoral Prayer, and giving. Once this worship is complete, our Pastor will preach an expository message from the Bible. Although we believe worship is happening continually in our lives, it is through song, reading, teaching, and fellowship that you'll mainly see it practiced during Sunday. We don't take the vision of being Gospel Centered lightly. Expect to hear passionate, biblical preaching where we are taught to apply the Bible's truths practically.

WHAT IS A WOODSIDE CHURCH SERVICE LIKE?

​

Woodside is a church where the truth of Scripture matters. It's relaxed but focused. It's a place where we keep the worship service simple. We don't need to be flashy for people to meet God. We believe Jesus is enough for us. Here's what you can expect in a typical worship service:

 

Worship Music

During our worship service, our worship team will lead us in a number of songs. Woodside aims to balance new music with some of the great hymns of the faith. As we sing, our focus is not ourselves or those around us, but telling Jesus how much we love and worship Him. So no matter your musical talents, sing with all of your heart!

 

Scripture Reading

One of the greatest privileges we have as followers of Jesus is to worship Jesus by reading His Word. At Woodside, we believe that the Bible is God's gift to show us who He is and what He has done for us. The truth matters and so we make the reading of the Bible a very important part of our worship service.

 

Teaching

Each week, Pastor Mark teaches verse by verse straight from the Bible in a way that is practical and challenging. If you don't have a Bible with you, we have extra Bibles in the back of the seats -- feel free to use one of ours. And if you don't own your own Bible, please take one of ours home with you as our gift to you.

 

Lord's Supper

At Woodside, we celebrate the Lord's Supper together as a way to remember and identify with the death of Jesus on the cross. We welcome all Christians who actively trust in Jesus for salvation and who are willing to turn from their sin to receive the Lord's Supper with us.

 

Prayer

We pray together, with boldness and confidence, throughout our worship service. We believe that prayer is our lifeline so we pray often. If you would like to have someone pray for you, Pastor Mark would be honored to pray with you after the worship service. You'll find him and his wife in the back, waiting to serve you.

 

Giving

If you are our guest, please do not feel obligated to give anything financially -- instead, fill out a Connect Card and place that in the offering plate during the offering song. Our church family believes that we glorify God by giving as He leads us.

Woodside is a local, autonomous church that relies on the authority of God for all church-related matters and is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. 

 

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

 

Woodside is a family-friendly church. We believe that children are a blessing from God and are a vital part of every local church. We offer a short "children's church" as we believe children are a part of the entire church family. Families are encouraged to worship together so our children worship with us. We love having families with kids of all ages worshipping together with us!

We believe that children should enjoy learning about Jesus at church every single week - and at Woodside KidsConnect, we make this a priority. The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a secure check-in process for our Woodside KidsConnect program the first time that you visit. You’ll want to leave yourself a few extra minutes to get signed in for the Woodside KidsConnect class. Woodside KidsConnect is offered during every Woodside Church service for children, ages infant through Grade 6.
